The tasting experience at Tablas Creek is always enjoyable. Not only great Rhône wines (they are responsible for bringing Rhône vines to California), but their knowledgeable and engaged team shares the story behind this winery and unique details about each wine. Thanks to Ashley for leading us through our tasting. As you start with whites and move to reds, you experience single varietals to taste, feel, and enjoy the intense characteristics of each grape on its own, plus masterful blends that showcase the best of each varietal. Here is our final tasting: 2014 and 2015 vertical tasting of Esprit de Tablas (which is Tablas Creek’s own version of the Esprit de Beaucastel Rouge). Very different and both pleasing in their own ways. And yet only beginning to show their complexities and a glimpse of what lies ahead. They will age with grace. What’s your usual go-to — 🍇 🤔 single varietals or blends?
