Thank you for all the love! Woke up today to over 1700 followers. 10 days ago I had fewer than 350, this last 2 weeks have been a whirlwind. Maybe I need to give away a feather painting when I get to 2000 followers?
Ok, I’ve had several requests for rainbow feathers, I have a jewel tone feather to post today. I have plans to do a true rainbow next week. Feather tutorials are on my YouTube channel, link is in my profile.
Here’s what I do with the leftover paint from a session of making feathers. This swipe of color gets dried and peels from the freezer paper to be used to make jewelry. Swipe to see a closeup of the final result. (I’ll be posting the rainbow feather video tomorrow from the line of colors on the right.)
Got to love those edges 😍
I have a new feather tutorial up on my YouTube account. Here’s a snippet of the pink feather in shown, in something closer to real time than my last couple videos here. Painted with acrylic paints & floetrol. Link to full video is in my profile. Also my Etsy shop has reopened! You can also reach it from my profile.
Btw, my Etsy shop is open again! Little galaxy ring dishes in progress. These still need to get stars added, then once they are cured they are getting a special addition (hint “I love you” “I know”). They’ll be ready for Valentine’s Day, but I’m thinking they’ll be perfect gifts for wedding season for your favorite geeky couple.
Just a little swipe with the leftover paint for jewelry projects later 😊
I have another feather video for you today!
You can’t paint a true peacock feather with this technique, but I wanted to do one with some of the colors. The bright turquoise is color shift paint, which really reminds me of the colors in a peacock feather.
Guys, I’m humbled & honestly a bit bowled over by the response to yesterday’s feather video. Thank you all for the love! I needed to catch up on coasters to meet a deadline for a show, but I’ll be painting more feathers today & this weekend. I have some more ideas for color combinations. 😉
Feather tutorials are done! Here’s a quick time-lapse in Instagram friendly length, but a full step-by-step video is on my YouTube account, link is in my profile.
More feathers are happening in the studio. These are tiny feathers on new coaster sets. Tomorrow I’ll have video tutorials to post here & on YouTube.
New coaster sets freshly poured. First set in deep blues and purples, full of mica flakes and silver metallic accents.
Decided to jump on the feather bandwagon. I can see how these can be so addicting!
So glad to be back to painting after the new year! This one came out just how I wanted. It will eventually be a bottle opener. Perfect for my shows at breweries.
Jewelry pours for those who are Gryffindor.
New Year deep blue & purple to get the creative juices flowing. I think this color combo is sticking around, definitely needs to go on some coasters.
Starting off 2019 with pours for new jewelry. First up will be pours in each of the Hogwarts house colors. Had to start with Hufflepuff, couldn’t leave my house for last.
